Fanderson Announces Convention for 2010

6th October 2009

In 2010 Thunderbirds will be 45 years old, UFO will be 40 and Space:1999 a mere 35. Birthday party, anyone?

On the weekend of Friday 22nd to Sunday 24th October 2010 Fanderson will be staging their first major convention for four years. TV21: Adventure in the 21st Century will be based at the Ramada Bristol City and will feature special guests from the worlds of Gerry Anderson, screenings of favourite episodes and rare material on the big screen, workshops where you can develop your interest in the Anderson productions beyond reading FAB magazine and watching DVDs. There will be merchandise for sale and a stunning model and art exhibition, including many pieces not seen before at a Fanderson event.

TV21: Adventure in the 21st Century - Fanderson's first major convention for four years

In recent years the club has been inundated with requests for another convention, but we understand that for many people funds are still limited. That's why we've worked hard to keep registration prices the same as for their last weekend convention, Sector 25 in 2005.

Registrations start at just £90 for the full weekend and you can save money by taking advantage of our special earlybird rate by registering before 1st April 2010. You don't even have to fork out for it all at once, as you'll be able to reserve your place with a deposit of just £30. Accommodation at the Ramada Bristol City starts at £60 for a single or £67 for two people sharing a double or twin bedded room.

The Ramada Bristol City boasts excellent national and international transport links, with easy access to the M4, M5 and M32. Bristol Temple Meads railway station is a mere 400 metres away and it's 7.5 miles to Bristol International Airport.

Fanderson members will receive a registration form with their copy of FAB64, mailed out this week, but you can register online here.

We're dying to hear your views and suggestions on what we can do to make this one of the best ever Fanderson conventions. We plan to survey members and non-members in the months ahead on specific issues from talks to screenings to signings, but for now why not post your views on the Fanderson Forum.
