Back to the Future - The Return Of Century 21

2nd November 2010

The Century 21 reprints of the famous TV21 comic will return in spring 2011

Fanderson has learnt that the highly popular Century 21 series of graphic novels based on the 1960s comic will be relaunched next year. The series was launched in early 2009 and has since gained a reputation as the definitive reprint editions of classic strips from the TV Century 21 and Lady Penelope comics.

Reynolds and Hearn, the original publishers of Century 21, closed in August and it was feared that the last volume had been published. We can now reveal however that Signum Books - a new company - has acquired the license from Anderson Entertainment.

Signum's managing director Marcus Hearn was formerly the editorial director of R&H. He says: "As soon as I knew R&H was winding down I approached Gerry and Mary Anderson and asked if we could continue working together. I was very proud of what Chris Bentley and his team achieved with the books, and knew that there was so much more artwork yet to be restored. Fortunately Gerry and Mary felt the same way and we have already started work on Volume 5."

The next volume of Century 21 is currently scheduled to appear in spring 2011. Further details of the project will appear at www.signumbooks.com. The website is also offering signed copies of Signum's first book, Shane Rimmer's autobiography From Thunderbirds to Pterodactyls. The book went on sale for the first time ever at Fanderson's TV21 convention in Bristol in October.
