Barry Gray Concert: Blu-Ray Thunderbirds!

5th November 2008

Virgil Tracy, pilot of Thunderbird 2, hopes to attend the Barry Gray Concert

Fanderson has learnt that this Saturday's Barry Gray Concert is set to feature the first-ever public screening of Thunderbirds in Blu-Ray high definition. The footage, which will be provided courtesy of ITV DVD, has attracted the attention of a very special guest…and this time we're not talking about Gerry Anderson!

If like Virgil you fancy getting dressed up for this exciting one-night-only event, then it's not too late to purchase tickets. Please note that Virgil will not be performing on the piano.

The concert will be held Saturday 8th November at the Royal Festival Hall on London's South Bank. Compere will be Brian Blessed, who starred in two Space: 1999 episodes and played the lead of Dr. Tom Bowen in Into Infinity: The Day After Tomorrow. Music will be provided by the Philharmonia Orchestra, and conducted by Francois Evans.

Crispin Merrell, the composer-pianist well-known among Anderson fans for his work on Space Precinct, Lavender Castle and New Captain Scarlet, will also be performing, while the international award-winning a cappella ensemble Voces8 will be present to recreate popular theme songs and vocals from our favourite shows. A specially-produced programme will be available on the night, and a percentage of gross proceeds will be given to the Cinema and Television Benevolent Fund.
