Default Sorry I'm late, folks. I had to milk the cows before I took off.

Hi everybody

After a few technical complications I'm now on the forum and it's great to be here.

I've been a fan of Thunderbirds ever since the re-mastered prints were shown on TV for the first time (in 2000 IIRC) so I never got to watch it first time round in the 60's.

Also a MASSIVE fan of Captain Scarlet, Four Feather Falls and NEW Captain Scarlet but I love all things Anderson, the only supermarionation series I have not seen a single episode of is FIreball XL5.

Looking out for Supercar, XL5, Stingray and The Secret Service on DVD to complete my supermarionation collection.

Looking forward to chatting

Sweeps

Thanks for the welcome Virg, no prizes for guessing who your favourite Thunderbirds character is

I had a Thunderbirds watching spree a few months ago, got through the entire series and both films in a week so it sort of got me back into it. IMO the early episodes are better than the later ones.

Hi Sweeps and welcome along to the forum. I'm also a BIG Supermarionation fan - fave show Captain Scarlet and The Mysterons. You'll enjoy Fireball XL5 - a classic series as are Supercar and The Secret Service - not forgetting Stingray too!

I'm liking the sound of it, I'm hoping to go and do the ultimate and do all of the episodes of Thunderbirds in 2 days :P here's the link http://www.fanderson.org.uk/forum/showthread.php?t=1281

Greetings Picasso61,

I watched CS&TM after Thunderbirds which must have been in 2001 and then I watched Stingray after that but I didn't see it through to the end, seen most of them though.

The Secret Service certainly looks...different to say the least

Since it looks as if Supercar has been discontinued by Networkdvd I'm thinking about getting The Complete Monochrome boxset as even though I already have FFF it would probably be cheaper to buy the series that way

Yes, I was reading it before and I would never be able to do that (not in that amount of time anyway) so if/when you do do it I will certainly be very happy for you. It will be one heck of an achievement

I was lucky enough to see The Secret Service when it premiered on ATV in Sep 1969 - I think I saw the repeats too! It certainly is different inasmuch as it's a combination of Supermarionation and real life - great fun.
That Monochrome Years set is superb as it contains the first 26 of Torchy right through to XL5 and I believe is still available so yes that would be the best set to buy rather than buy the series separately. I can also recommend the Fireball set which contains the colourised episode A Day In The Life Of A Space General and two new documentaries A Wonderland Of Stardust and Drawn In Supermarionation.
