I received FAB 91 today. A very Merry Christmas to everyone involved with putting this excellent publication together.

Very nice Zienia Merton tribute and retrospective, which is the only bit I've had time to read yet.

Looks great. The content page is as far as I've got but no TAG again makes this another fab issue.
Joe 90 Closeup will now accompany my viewing of the Bluray episodes.

A few comments on the latest FAB...

Re. 'Thunderbirds the Second Series' -- Whilst it must have seemed like a good idea to make the additional 6 episodes at the end (having gone to the expense and trouble of making new models and sprucing up some of the puppets, etc,), I'm not sure that it turned out to be such a good idea after all. For some reason, those final 6 episodes seem to be devoid of much of the character and charm of the earlier episodes - although admittedly they do look good. Of the final 6, there's really only 'Atlantic Inferno' and 'Ricochet' that I can honestly say I like. Mind you, having given it some thought, I realise that 'Alias Mr Hackenbacker' was the first episode of Thunderbirds that I ever saw - aged about 3 in 1966. How time flies!

With regards the article about dogs that have appeared in the various shows... how could you omit to mention Culley's dog in the UFO episode 'The Sound of Silence'. Isn't this the dog that made the biggest impression on all of us? Firstly he bravely tries to fend off the horse that is trying to kick seven bells out of his owner; then, without a flinch, he retrieves the knife that has just buried itself in the tree a few inches from his head; he later senses that something is amiss in the lake and tries to warn Culley about the submerged UFO long before it begins to power up and emit an eerie glow. And, finally, after all that, he ends up getting stabbed and mutilated by the Alien and when we last see him he is lying, bloodied, in the foliage, whimpering his final painful goodbye. How could you ignore this canine legend? If nothing else, the poor thing had to endure the (probable) embarrassment of being re-dubbed by Percy Edwards! I bet the dog's agent had a thing or two to say about that!

Quite a surprise, but very welcome, to receive FAB 91 recently. Something to read and digest over Christmas.

The downside is that it included my membership renewal notice - so it's that time of signing up again.

On the + side it means you'll get Joe 90 Closeup next time round.

Anyone know if we can expect Stingray Closeup next year?

That might be a bit thin.
So SS Closeup arrives with the next issue of FAB then for new subscribers?
