Potentially - but surely the disc masters would also have been done some time in advance as well (and ahead of the decision not to show the episode), and the manufacturing done from them (otherwise it's not clear how they would have redone them and still hit this release date).

Either way we'll know for sure in less than a month........

Well we've previously had email confirmation from ITV that Inferno will not be on the DVD release, so unless someone at ITV was misinformed.

Probably works for the same PR company as the numpty who said there would be no further Captain Scarlet Bluray releases.
We do know that at the best of times ITV is staffed by idiots but are they really daft enough to issue a dvd series set with an episode missing? Surely they'll know that they would end up with returns when people discover an episode is missing.

My guess is that the PR people want to keep its inclusion status unknown in case tabloid mentality takes over and The Daily Mail runs a story about a childrens dvd release including something which might be considered bad taste by a few people. But once its on sale any such tabloid nonsense would result in the disc flying off the shelves.
But thinking about it, probably unlikely that anyone at ITV is clever enough to imagine such a scenario.

Of course, they may simply decide to hold it over until the next series when memories will be a little further away. Making the series 1 episode longer is not much different to making the previous 1 shorter.

That's assuming that it doesn't include any arc references to the Mechanic.

The box art has been amended, Inferno is being left out.

I can understand taking it off tv, but the dvd is unacceptable.

Bottom once did an episode set on Wimbledon Common, but after a murder took place there, they pulled the episode from broadcast. True, it was shown on TV eventually, like three years later or something, but the episode STILL got a VHS release in 1992.

It isn't right to deny people the right to see it for themselves in SOME way, shape or form. Removing the episode from the DVD is not a good thing, and it WILL effect sales.

I was going to post an alert on Amazon but it seems someone has beaten me to it.
Still, at least it shows that ITV haven't lost their knack of showing how stupid they can be.
Ebay sales for the Australian release should do well

It's all very annoying - and whilst Amazon have updated the cover image they really ought to update the product description as well which still says "Episodes 14-26" and includes "Inferno" in the list.

I suppose there is a faint hope that it might get included in the full series box set when that comes out (partly as it would be a reason to get anyone that buys this to get that as well) but I suspect that will just be these disc (plus the Part 1 ones) in one box as usual.
