This is a thread for scenes in Anderson programmes where characters are seen piloting transportation other than their own. For example:
Commander Shore seen at the controls of Stingray after Troy and Phones had rescued Marina from Titan in The Master Plan. They used a Mechanical Fish to fool Titan.
Virgil Tracy seen piloting Thunderbird 3 in the Ricochet episode.
Alan Tracy seen piloting Thunderbird 1 in Atlantic Inferno whilst Scott was in temporary command.
There are probably other examples so can anyone think of any?

This is more of a "two-off" but in NCS we have Scarlet driving a Russian Druzynik tank in 2 episodes:
1. The Storm at the End of the World
2. Dominion

An interesting one is that Mighty Atom is the only episode with all 13 main characters in and all 5 vehicles in action.
Something which was never done was Gordon's portrait TV in the lounge being used.

Colonel White 'stealing' a Rhino (equivalent of an OCS SPV). "We want you to stop a train. It's carrying a billion dollars of gold bullion and travelling at 200 miles an hour. Nothing can stop it, except a Spectrum Rhino!" (Episode: Heist)

How funny, I didn't think anyone else ever noticed that, I had to watch the whole series once just to make sure I was right!
How about Colonel White driving a raid bike and a Rhino in 'Heist'?

In Space: 1999 I believe there was only one female that piloted an Eagle in all the series and that was Maya. Of course she was a monster at the time. That was in "Space Warp" and she really didn't do to well.....;)

I can't recall any other female seen flying an Eagle although I may be wrong.

I did see that too, it's a little unfair, but I guess If Gordon did need to say something to Jeff, Scott or Virgil would relay it, but still a little unfair

What about Johnny Swoonara piloting Stingray.....or is it Steve Zodiac doing a bit of moonlighting for the WASPs?

There's more of these than you think! That's a great pic of Johnny Swoonara (Steve Zodiac) as Troy Tempest, Silent Bob.:) He ought to have Robert as a co-pilot.:p

Now this would be an interesting thread. Re-used puppets in Gerry Anderson series. Though at the moment this is the only one I can think of :)

Hello Richard259,
I have always enjoyed the appearances of Captains Scarlet, Blue, Ochre and Black, together with Colonel White, in The Secret Service.
Scarlet was Agent Blake, Blue was Professor Graham, Ochre was John Masden, Black was Kroner and White was Sir Humphrey Burton. Matthew Harding made light work of the dangerous Captain Black (Kroner) by dropping a book on his head!
They made appearances in other episodes as well. Now I think about it, Patterson or Saunders (I forget which) was probably Captain Grey and I feel sure Magenta was in the congregation listening to Father Unwin on one or more occasions. :)

Another one-off occurrence was in the Fireball XL5 episode "Drama At Space City." With Steve and Venus on holiday Matt orders Robert to guard Fireball. Jonathan Zero sneaks aboard with Zoony. Unfortunately the Lazoon accidentally orders "Full Power!" and the robot blasts off into space...

Hello Richard259,
I have always enjoyed the appearances of Captains Scarlet, Blue, Ochre and Black, together with Colonel White, in The Secret Service.
Scarlet was Agent Blake, Blue was Professor Graham, Ochre was John Masden, Black was Eastman and White was Sir Humphrey Burton. Matthew Harding made light work of the dangerous Captain Black (Eastman) by dropping a book on his head!
They made appearances in other episodes as well. Now I think about it, Patterson or Saunders (I forget which) was probably Captain Grey and I feel sure Magenta was in the congregation listening to Father Unwin on one or more occasions. :)
Hi Conrad,
Although I have not seen The Secret Service, My guess is that because in Captains Scarlet they made the size of the puppets smaller they had to use ones from that, instead of making new ones, but as I said I have not seen The Secret Service so I may not be right (I will have to get it though) :D

I wonder if this applies to some of the puppets used in Joe 90 too. I remember that the MIG-242 jets, one of which Joe steals in the first episode, were actually modified Angel Interceptors.
Did we ever see the WAAF Viper, the plane that the Angel was supposedly developed from?
Silent Bob
14th October 2009, 04:20 PM
We never see the WAAF Viper on screen. But their are early drawings of the Angel aircraft in Derek Medding's 21st Century Visions book. These look like they could almost be Viper aircraft.

You did see some Interceptors that were just painted primer grey, (episode title escapes me ATM), that were to be delivered to Specrtum, but ended up getting Mysteronised instead. I pretty much just assumed that they were the WAAF Vipers, and Spectrum custom fit and finished the painting on Cloudbase.
Silent Bob

The episode is Seek and Destroy and i suppose they could be bog standard Vipers before Spectrum upgrade them on Cloudbase.

Unfortunately the Lazoon accidentally orders "Full Power!" and the robot blasts off into space...I think this only occurred the once in Captain Scarlet - Scarlet and Colonel White together in a Spectrum jet pursuing Captains Blue and Ochre in the "Flight To Atlantica" episode.
