Other way round for me, it has to be UFO followed by Space 1999.

The Secret Service inasmuch as it was part real life and part Supermarionation. Followed by UFO.

If you had asked me that 10 years ago, i would have said Space 1999 every time. But in the last few years UFO has definately grown better in my eyes. There's are lot more variation to the stories and i can now see that the acting is superior as well.

UFO - definitely. After the first screening it stayed in the mind far more readily than SPACE:1999, although in recent years I have come to enjoy 1999 far more. Shame about some of the monsters though...
