The FAB Years website has announced the entire Sylvia tour has been cancelled due to "unforseen circumstances". Which, I dare say, might be the lack of people buying tickets ?! Or am I getting far too cynical in my old age...?

Old age? Better hadn't be that reason - I'm older!!
Sylvia... Who is she? (from the song)
I probably wouldn't go to see her. Not because I dislike her, but because I would rather see Gerry !

Actually when I saw Sylvia she gave a better talk than Gerry - who has never been the best at public speaking.
As for the tour, it was rather strange to have so many dates and yet all at rather small poor out of the way places! At the end of the day it would be a minority interest audience and you would therefore only get a decent turnout in a larger city.

Just a further note of interest to this.
There is a small piece in tonight's Shropshire Star newspaper, concerning
the cancellation of Sylvia Anderson's tour (specifically her appearance at
the Theatre Severn in Shrewsbury, which had been scheduled for 17th
February).
The newspaper quotes a spokesperson for the theatre, who expressed
disappointment that the show was off, adding:
"It seems the company have pulled the whole tour. It does seem a shame as I
think it would have been an interesting evening.
"However, it seems that overall the ticket sales for the various venues were
not sufficient."
