I picked it randomly in a Google image search for this post. Excellent work David Sisson. It is the first time that I ever saw it. My eye was drawn immediately to your EAGLE image. Brilliant.:)

I love Supercar. I've got the colour product enterprise model on my shelf and just love the detail on it. When (yeah I said WHEN) I'm a multi-millionaire I will actually build my own full working Supercar... of course it probably won't fly... but hurtling down the M1 in it would be an experience! I also love flying it on Flight Simulator. Thanks to the guy who made that (the name escapes me)!

Hard to choice, but i've a special preference for the SPV from the original Captain Scarlet Movie, and after come the wonderful eagle Transporter.

I've a SPV from Dinky Toys (partially dammaged) and a VIP Eagle from Ganada Venture, the one you can buy in many merchandesign shop.

Thunderbird 1 & 2 for their power and grace.

Eagle Transporter for its practicality and real-world look. And with all the diecast variants and models out there, it's definitely the best referenced and most widely available Anderson craft.

Looking at the image of the box, it is the Product Enterprise/Iconic Replicas Thunderbird 2. No wonder so many collectors didn't buy it. :(

And the shape too!

You didn't need to tell us the source of the pictures Steve as the website is clearly written across the wing and fuselage, indicating where you had got them from. I thought that you were perhaps spreading some advertising for the company in question.

Actually the original models were several different green colours. If you watch the begining of the episode Security Hazzard, when TB2 lands back at Tracy Island, then you will see that the Pod is a different colour to the rest of the model.

There is an interview with Derek Meddings in an old Starburst where he talks about the original shape of the TB2 nose and the colour and never being able to get it the same again.

Oh I was forgetting the mighty Zero X, I have always loved that vehicle.

Silent Bob
21st September 2009, 09:57 PM
I would dearly have loved to see a spin off TV series of Zero-X after Thunderbirds Are Go. That was the main reason why i had TV Century 21 every week in the sixties, for my weekly dose of Zero-X.
Especially when Mike Noble was drawing the strip, he could make that vehicle look dynamic from any angle.

Conrad Lefkon

I guess this is another vote for Zero-X then. I have the Aoshima die-cast model and it is unbelievably good!

1. Zero-X (Thunderbirds Are Go)
2. Thunderbird 3
3. Mac’s Air Car (Joe 90)
4. Fireflash (Thunderbirds)
5. Joesville Mail Train (Joe 90)
6. Gray & Houseman Road Construction Vehicle (Thunderbirds)
7. Thunderbird 2
8. Delta Tango 19 (Captain Scarlet)
9. Druzynik (New Captain Scarlet)
10. Terrorfish (Stingray)

I did not even notice it in the image, especially since silent bob asked me my source. That makes two of us that did not see what you saw. thanks Mark42 ...you have a good eye :)

Ditto - you must be reading my mind.

The main problem with this, is that it would really only be a reworking of Fireball XL5, which was still quite recent for them.

I guess you know that the UFO MOONMOBILE was in an episode of Captain Scarlet, one of the ones when they go to the moon (Can't recall which one, I'll go and take a look), but it moves in a different way

It's pushing it to say it's the Moon Mobile, bit like saying the Shado Mobile appears in Joe 90's 'Colonel McClaine' episode.

Has to be The Mole from Thunderbirds with the SPV a close second.:)Also Father Unwin's Model T Ford. Any colour as long as it's yellow!
Mechanical Fish & X20's underwater craft.
The Unitron (Point 783) and The Aquatank (Recall To Service) are pretty cool too. Are they one and the same?

TonyB

The list isd getting very long indeed, it just goes to show how iconic some of these designs were, that we are still talking about them 35 to 50 years on, brilliant stuff.

Heh, all this talk even makes me want to go and build something new, or even go and finish the two 1/48th scale Angel Interceptors that have been sat there untouched for about four years. :(
