Yes I know that it's not Gerry Anderson, but it is close. lol
For those that liked Star Fleet just a heads up that the soundtrack has finally been released and it's great - thats if you didn't already know and were ordering it for Christmas.
It's £15.90 and I paid simply and easily by Paypal and it dropped through the letterbox three days later.
It's just as good as our Fanderson CD's and old Chris Bentley writes the intro.
Check out the Star Fleet forum page here - it's Pop-tastic!

Is it? Is the music any good? Any samples?
The folk on that forum seem to be wetting themselves with excitement but is that because they saw the series at an impressionable age or because the music is intrinisically good?

From what I can remember the music is not bad, the series is OK too, OK enough for me to purchase it on DVD, although it does have to be said that I have not had the discs in my player at this point.
I might be tempted to look at this CD release in the New Year, cannot afford this side of Christmas though.

Star Fleet is a rather enjoyable slice of pure synthesised cheese (and I mean that in the best possible way).
The main theme and end title song are ludicrously catchy while the rest of the score is just a pop and rock-orientated synth fest. I don't really enjoy pure synth scores (apart from maybe Jan Hammer's work) but I enjoyed Star Fleet much more than I did Terrahawks, that's for sure. That goes for the series itself - which I haven't seen since it first screened on the telly - as well as the music.
I don't think that the score itself is as memorable as the music which Barry Gray or Derek Wadsworth wrote, and therefore I can't really say that in my opinion this disc is 'as good as' the Fanderson discs (except in the excellent standard of design and presentation).
But it's a lot of fun and - just before Christmas - that's the most important thing.

What I meant was the production quality - I can't comment on if you actually like the music - thats up to personal taste. :)
I don't think it's as good as Terrahawks but it's easier to listen to than some soundtrack albums. I always thought the music was the best bit of the series.

Do you have to join the group to be able to order the CD then, or is it for sale to anybody.
Probably need to go look back through that thread for order details.

No - anyone can buy one.
I ordered one earlier in the week, paid by PayPal...and received it the following day.

I have bitten the bullet and ordered a Star Fleet OST CD, sent off my Paypal payment earlier this evening.
I doubt that I will get it this side of Christmas, but it will be something to look forward to.

The service was very good considering how late before Christmas I left the order. Got my copy in between Christmas and the New Year.

I second that. I got my copy christmas eve and it was nicely packaged too.
I'm still not familiar with the series yet but I did enjoy the soundtrack, to me it's a cross between Richard Harvey's Terrahawks and Sly Levay's Airwolf scores.
I'll probably enjoy it more when I can listen to the music whilst seeing the visuals. The remastering was very good indeed!

I just ordered the DVD of Star Fleet on Amazon. I'm hoping to get the Soundtrack eventually, Hoping that i'd be able to afford to order across sea's (I got the DVD off Amazon though from a user selling the UK DVD, there is no US DVD as far as i'm aware) or that someone is doing the same through amazon.
