FAB Anniversary Extra FAB ANNIVERSARY EXTRA

Special 56-page Anniversary Extra edition of FAB magazine, published to celebrate Fanderson's 25th anniversary in 2006

The magazine features a special retrospective on Fanderson first decade in which club chairman Chris Bentley details how Fanderson came about and recalls the highs and lows of its formative years. In the first part of a major feature on Gerry Anderson's Century 21 Merchandising company of the 1960s, FAB examines the history of the Century 21 Organisation's licensing arm and looks at a much-overlooked aspect of the Century 21 operation - the UK merchandising of top American TV shows such as Dr. Kildare, Burke's Law, The Man From U.N.C.L.E. and The Monkees.

The magazine also celebrates the Anderson comics art of Brian Lewis with two complete Thunderbirds and UFO strips, digitally restored and reprinted for the first time since their original publication in the 1966 TV21 Thunderbirds Extra and Countdown respectively. In addition, there is a complete full-colour Zero X strip illustrated by Mike Noble, also digitally restored and reprinted for the first time since its original publication in TV21, and the whole is wrapped in a cover featuring an illustration of WSP flagship Fireball XL5 specially-illustrated for Fanderson by Mike Noble.

56 page A5 (148 x 210 mm) magazine with 16 colour pages.

Earthbound "SPACE:1999 - EARTHBOUND"
by E.C. Tubb

Blasted from Earth orbit by the explosion of radioactive waste pits on the lunar surface, the Moon has passed through a black sun into a strange, distant universe where few of the accepted laws of astrophysics apply. The stranded inhabitants of Moonbase Alpha have become interstellar wanderers, facing many hostile alien forces in their search for a new home.

Now, the arrival of aliens from a dying planet offers the chance for one Alphan to travel with them to their final destination - Earth. Then the planet Eden promises to bring the Alphans' long journey to an end, but the members of a survey team are stranded when their paradise suddenly becomes a living hell. Finally, a pair of alien exiles plan to use Moonbase Alpha as a platform from which to launch an invasion of their homeworld!

"Earthbound" is the first brand new Space:1999 novel from E.C. Tubb in over 25 years and presents the long-awaited novelisation of the popular television episode Earthbound, omitted from the original series of episode novelisations published by Futura Books in 1975.

"Earthbound" also features brand new novelisations of a pair of Space:1999 Year Two scripts that were originally written as a continuation of the series' Year One format. Here, Tubb retains the characters and elements from the draft versions of both scripts to create a fascinating work of Space:1999 fiction that recreates The Immunity Syndrome (under its original title 'The Face Of Eden') and The Exiles as Year One stories.

The author of more than 120 novels and 230 short stories, E.C. Tubb is one of British science-fiction's most popular and prolific writers. His best-known works are the 32 volume "Dumarest Saga" and his novelisations and original novels based on Space:1999: "Breakaway", "Collision Course", "Alien Seed", "Rogue Planet" and "Earthfall".

The book is illustrated with 12 pages of photographs and includes an Afterword which describes the genesis of the project.

188 page oversize format (128 x 195 mm) perfect-bound paperback. Published by Century 21 Books.

UK - £3.00 E - £3.75 RW - £4.75

Earthfall "SPACE:1999 - EARTHFALL"
by E.C. Tubb

On the Moon, 13 men have died in mysterious circumstances and John Koenig is assigned to determine the cause. What he discovers has disastrous consequences for the personnel of Moonbase Alpha when an asteroid composed entirely of antimatter collides with radioactive waste pits on the lunar surface, hurtling the Moon into an alternative dimension!

This is the epic story of Moonbase Alpha, from the breakaway disaster which leaves the survivors lost in a strange universe of hostile lifeforms, to decades later when the second generation of Alphans return to a shattered Earth.

Based on the spectacular ATV series Space:1999 produced by Gerry Anderson and starring Martin Landau and Barbara Bain, "Earthfall" is a classic science-fiction novel from one of the masters of the genre. The author of more than 120 novels and 230 short stories, E.C. Tubb is one of British science-fiction's most popular and prolific writers. His best-known works are the 32 volume "Dumarest Saga" and his novelisations and original novels based on Space:1999.

Originally published in 1977, "Earthfall" is E.C. Tubb's most ambitious novel and is widely acknowledged as one of the most accomplished works of fiction based on an existing television series format. This new edition corrects many typographic and editorial errors from the original printing and has been reformatted with the full approval of the author.

304 page oversize format (128 x 195 mm) perfect-bound paperback. Published by Century 21 Books.

UFO-Original Screenplays Volume 1 "UFO - ORIGINAL SCREENPLAYS Volume 1"
by Gerry & Sylvia Anderson, Tony Barwick and Ian Scott Stewart

1980 - Unidentified Flying Objects bring Aliens from a dying planet to Earth, abducting humans to obtain organs that can be transplanted into their own bodies. Operating from a secret complex hidden beneath a film studio, only SHADO - Supreme Headquarters Alien Defence Organisation - stands between the intruders and an unsuspecting world. Now, for the first time, the story of SHADO's unending battle with the Aliens is told as originally written by the authors of Gerry Anderson's classic 1969 science-fiction series UFO.

This volume presents the complete shooting scripts of the first four episodes produced for UFO as initially submitted to the members of the cast and crew, complete with original characters (such as Franco Desica and Paula Harris) who changed during filming, additional scenes and dialogue that did not appear in the broadcast episodes, and deleted scenes, many of which were filmed and then cut from the episodes in post-production.

In Identified, SHADO makes its first contact with the Aliens, leading to a horrific discovery for Captain Peter Karlin.

In Computer Affair, Lt. Paula Harris is suspected of an error in judgement after an Interceptor pilot is killed during a UFO incident.

In Flight Path, Paul Roper provides the Aliens with information that could bring about the destruction of Moonbase.

And in Survival, Colonel Franco Desica is stranded on the lunar surface with an Alien who killed one of his closest friends.

The book includes 12 pages of colour photos featuring production stills, behind the scenes pictures and deleted scenes. Introduced by Chris Bentley who highlights the differences between the scripts and the finished episodes and the reasons for the changes.

204 page oversize format (128 x 197mm) perfect-bound paperback. Published by Century 21 Books.
