The Complete Gerry Anderson - The Authorised Episode Guide
Written by Chris Bentley Reynolds & Hearn £15.99 Reviewed by Brian J. Robb

Everything you could ever want to know about every Gerry Anderson project, from Twizzle to the CG-revival of Captain Scarlet...

Packed with information, this volume covers all of Gerry Anderson's work from the 1948 Wicked Lady (which he worked on as an editor) through to the forthcoming Captain Scarlet And The Mysterons CG TV show.

For over 50 years, Anderson has been labouring away at his chosen craft with varying degrees of success. With a Thunderbirds movie - which, alas, does not involve Anderson - now in production and his work on Captain Scarlet progressing, this is an ideal time for a look back at his work.

Author Chris Bentley, head of Fanderson (the official Anderson fan club) for the past 10 years, certainly knows his stuff and is determined that you'll know it too. The format of the book packs a lot more in than some other episode guides, making it a detailed read. With an introduction to each show and a brief history of the production of each series, Bentley's individual episode entries include cast lists, plot synopses, broadcast details, notes on the episodes and entries on the bloopers. There are also box outs scattered throughout highlighting other information.

The book doesn't just cover the obvious well-known series, but discusses Anderson's films, one-off and uncompleted projects, plus his work on music videos and adverts. Two photo sections give a glimpse of most of the series, but its the information that makes this book.
